Princess Anne's Pet Bull Terrier Attacked Another Dog at Royal Family Gathering: Report - dated January 19 2023 (People.com)

OFF THE LEASH Princess Anne’s Bull Terrier savages another dog as witnesses say there was ‘a lot of blood and screaming’ - dated January 17 2023 (The Sun)

Summary: Princess Anne’s bull terriers attacked another dog during a royal family outing to hunt pheasant on boxing day.

Situation:

  1. The British royal family holds an annual Boxing Day hunt (the day after Christmas)
  2. The Boxing Day hunt is a huge family affair, so Princess Anne, the 72-year-old daughter of the late Queen Elizabeth, took along her dog this past December

Problem:

  1. Princess Anne’s dog ran across the field straight at the gamekeeper’s dog and latched on to its ear.
  2. According to an insider, “there was a lot of blood and a lot of screaming and a lot of shouting. Getting the dog off the ear took a while because it had really sunk its teeth in.”

Result:

  1. Despite the vast amount of blood and screaming, it’s reported that both dogs are thought to have survived.
  2. Others have wondered what would have happened if it had been Princess Charlotte or Prince George that had been bitten, or any of the children for that matter, instead of another dog
  3. Coincidentally, This isn't the first time one of Princess Anne's Bull Terriers has made headlines.
  4. In 2002, she was ordered to court after her Bull Terrier named Dotty escaped her control during a walk in the park at Windsor Castle and bit two young boys, The New York Times reported.
  5. Princess Anne pled guilty and paid a fine, becoming the first senior-ranking British royal to be convicted of a criminal offense in modern times.
  6. The following year, another one of Anne's Bull Terriers attacked another dog — a corgi belonging to the late Queen Elizabeth II. The corgi had to be put down as a result of the attack.
